Senior Camp Counselor

 

Our eight week summer program provides a safe and enriching environment. Campers go on carefully planned trips twice per week, exposing them to different neighborhoods, events in New York City in order to broaden their educational and cultural horizons. Educational activities, computer courses, arts & crafts and academic enrichment are provided. Campers are ages 5-12.

The Senior Camp Counselor is responsible for escorting campers on educational trips and developing lesson plans in Reading and Math. They are also responsible for supervising the junior camp counselors and group workers.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma
• Prior experience working with children ages 5-12 years old
• Good communication skills, both oral and written
• Develop, facilitate, actively assist with, and participate in all activities of the camp

 

Responsibilities:

• Attends and participates in training sessions
• Escorts campers on educational trips
• Ensures that age-appropriate activities are implemented for children aged 5-12
• Encourages positive social skills, self-confidence and self expression

 

Compensation: $13.00 an hour

 

Hours: Monday through Friday from 8:30am - 5:30 pm
