Music School Director

 

The Hamilton-Madison House Music School, established in 2005, provides affordable group and individual instruction in violin, piano and other instruments. The school currently has over 100 students enrolled in weekday and Saturday classes. Students perform twice yearly in recitals at local venues.

The Music School Director provides program oversight, conducts registration of students, meets with teachers, organizes recitals and assists in program fundraising.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

• B.A. in Music and extensive experience, Master’s Degree a plus
•  Supervisory experience in a music environment
•  Extensive knowledge of Suzuki as well as other teaching methods for strings and piano
•  Background in music administration or education

 

Responsibilities:

• Supervision of teaching staff
•  Ability to create program budget
•  Instruction of a limited number of students
•  Planning of school recitals and community concerts
• Interaction with parents and students

  

 

Compensation: Commensurate with experience

 

Hours: 15 hours per week (Saturdays and one to two weekday afternoons)
