Recovery Specialist/Case Manager

 

Position Summary: The Recovery Specialist/Case Manager will provide a full range of counseling/outreach/case management services to individuals and family members with substance abuse and/or gambling addiction for the Asian American Recovery Services Program. The person in this position will also participate in the planning, organization, and delivery of cross-disciplinary services such as pre-vocational skills, outreach activities, case work and program administrative tasks.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

• BA/BS Degree in social work, sociology, psychology or human service related field, CASAC-T credential, a plus
• Minimum of one year of job-related experience in a community based substance abuse treatment facility, a plus
• Bilingual English/Cantonese and/or Mandarin required
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

 

Responsibilities:

• Perform screening/intake: Interview clients, family members, and significant others in order to obtain psychosocial information
• Provide psycho-education, social services, case management and crisis intervention
• Assist in facilitating clients’ access to vocational training, skills development and employment placement
• Accompany and translate for clients at appointments for detoxification, court and other services
• Assist clients in applying for supported housing, obtain entitlements such as public assistance, Medicaid, and other
• Planning and implementing group sessions, community outreach and recruitment activities
• Provide clients or family members with information about addiction issues and about available services and programs, making appropriate referrals when necessary

 

Compensation: Commensurate with experience, excellent benefits.

 

Hours: Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
