Educational Director Specialist
Reports to: Administrative Director of Child Care
Qualifications:
- Early Childhood Special Education Degree a plus
- Provisional/Permanent Certification in Early Child Education
- Teaching Experience in pre-school setting
- Chinese Bi-Lingual a plus
- Supervisory Experience required
Responsibilites:
- Relate sensitively to preschoolers and parents, establish and maintain professional relationships
- Excellent computer skills, establishment and maintenance of an appropriate file for educational materials and resources
- Meet with staff to determine special needs children; oversee related services
- Maintainence of written documentation of all supervisory and educational meetings, and written evaluation of teachers’ performance
- Develop an educational plan and a system for monitoring and evaluation of the Program which reflects the goals and objectives outlined in the Federal Performance Standards for Head Start and focus on the Disabilities Content Area
- In-service training/workshops in pedagogy as it relates to early childhood education
- Recruiting, screening, supervision of candidates for educational staff vacancies (parent/community volunteers, student teachers, etc.)
- Working with the policy committee and completion and timely submission of required reports/documentation required by ACD-Head Start Bureau and the Federal Government
- Participating in conferences and training sessions for professional growth
- Tracking and designing the Professional Staff Development Plans
- Parent News Letter Program update for the Larger Community Specials
