Donate to Hamilton Madison House

The Hamilton Madison House City Hall Senior Center celebrated its 60th Anniversary on May 20, 2011, filling Jing Fong Restaurant with over 700 guests. Established in 1951 as the Chinese Golden Age Club, the City Hall Senior Center has a long history of serving persons over 60, providing nutritious meals, innovative programming for healthy aging, and lifelong learning such as classes in English, painting, computers and ballroom dance.

Mark Handelman, HMH Executive Director and Isabel Ching, Assistant Executive Director for Senior Services made opening remarks to welcome guests and sponsors.

Special guests included NYC Comptroller John Liu, City Councilmember Margaret Chin, State Senator Daniel Squadron, and Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer.

Entertainment included a traditional Lion Dance, Cantonese & Beijing Opera performances, and a pipa soloist. To promote cultural exchange, the Levitt Legacy Klezmer Band also performed.
