1998-1999 1998 The Centennial Year. Highlights for our Centennial included the 19th Annual Chinatown Banquet on March 27th at Jing Fong on Elizabeth Street; an HMH photo exhibit at the Tenement Museum on April 2nd; a Centennial Street Fair on September 26th; and a Black Tie Gala held on November 9th at the Downtown Marriott. 1998 The Ryan White Teen Outreach Program closes and a newly implemented Teen Reach Program receives funding to continue the services that enable teens to cope with HIV/AIDS and with problems specifically related to adolescents growing up in a tough street culture and in difficult times. 1998 Hamilton-Madison House begins a 1998 - 2002 $1 Million Centennial Endowment Campaign. 1998 The “Women Talk” program is started to help Asian women communicate with the world beyond their neighborhood. Combining English as a Foreign Language with computer and business classes, the program participants are encouraged to find jobs beyond the garment industry. 1999 Hamilton-Madison House embarks on its “Second Century of Service” to the Two Bridges/Chinatown community. 1999 20th Annual Chinatown Banquet is held. Over 1,000 people attend setting both an attendance and fund raising record. 1999 Joseph Ritorto elected Board President
